There are the following options to get to and from Big Bear Lake: HW 18R, HW 18L, HW 38, and HW 330. During the winter season, it’s mandatory, by law, to carry in your vehicle snow chains at all times, regardless of the weather conditions.

Signs will be posted along the highways with updated information and the requirement level currently in place (R1, R2 0r R3). The speed limit when chains are required is 25 or 30 miles an hour.
