BEAR MOUNTAIN CHALET
F.A.Q Frequently Asked Questions
During peak times, both ski resorts offer a shuttle bus service to help visitors and the community get between them. We provide our guests with all additional information once required.
We always try to accommodate our guest’s requests in the best possible way. However, in this case, we are only able to offer a late check-out or an early check-in if we don’t have any back-to-back bookings. For that reason, we’ll only be able to confirm it closer to the guest’s arrival. Otherwise, we will be more than happy to!
You’ll find all the preparation tools and kitchen essentials for cooking and dining. The chalet offers cookware, dinnerware, and tableware, from pots and pans to baking sheets, measuring cups, cutting boards, spices, olive oil, sea salt, and black pepper shakers as well as a nice selection of coffee and teas. High-end appliances like the Smeg fridge and Hallman Oven and Gas Stove Italian Range complement our beautifully designed kitchen. Enjoy your meal in one of our dining areas, the 20-feet ceiling A-frame dining room, or have it al fresco on our fully furnished upper-floor deck while dazzling yourself with the most stunning views. Please check for further details in this site kitchen section.
There are the following options to get to and from Big Bear Lake: HW 18R, HW 18L, HW 38, and HW 330. Be aware that, during the winter season (at least from November to April), it is mandatory, by law, to carry in your vehicle snow at all times, regardless of the weather conditions.
If stopped by a CalTrans checkpoint you may be requested to display your chains or even, to put them on. When failing to comply, the passage is most likely to be denied and a fine might be issued by the California Highway Patrol. There are signs along the highway with updated information. Such restrictions are put in order to guarantee the safety of everyone. We provide our guests with all additional information once required.
The chalet offers high-speed connection by Spectrum throughout the property, and also, a dedicated workspace. We’ve already had several professionals staying with us while working remotely with no issues.
Please, do not worry about it whatsoever. As we also love coffee, the item is considered a mandatory item in the house! You’ll find in our kitchen regular and decaf coffee as well as a selection of teas. Choose your way from the Nespresso machine, the drip coffee maker to the French press. The is also a stovetop kettle.
Due to health and safety matters, we refrain from keeping perishable items. The only exception is our coffee and tea selection. Guests are more than welcome to bring in anything within their personal preferences. We just kindly ask them to remove all food brought in (open or unopened) at check-out.
We have a flat-screen TV in the Master Bedroom and a high-resolution projector with a large screen in the Movie Room. For our guests’ best entertainment, we offer complimentary streaming (HBO, Netflix, AppleTV, Youtube TV and Hulu).
As the property is within a national forest and California is sadly known for its wildfires, we took a difficult, yet necessary, decision to not have a BBQ/Grill or a firepit anywhere on the property. Our top concern here is regards to our guests’ safety as well as the protection of the valley, the wildlife, and our community.
